Recently, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd.’s 1.8 million t/a ethylene glycol project (hereinafter referred to as "180 Project") successfully passed the performance assessment and trial production acceptance, marking the 180 Project has reached the design requirements in various operating indicators including unit production capacity, process indicators, environmental protection indicators, etc. and the company has fully entered the production period.

With an area of about 6 600 acres (440 hectares), the "180 Project" primarily involves the construction of main production equipment such as air separation units, pulverized coal gasification units, syngas purification units, H2/CO separation units, dimethyl oxalate units, and ethylene glycol units, as well as power stations, coal storage and transportation, water treatment units (black water, slag water and grey water) and other public auxiliary engineering units. The project commenced construction on April 3, 2020, and the main unit was completed and achieved intermediate handover on June 30, 2022. As of October 31, 2023, the project has been operating for a total of 304 days in the year, producing 1.552 million tons of ethylene glycol, and is expected to produce 1.81 million tons throughout the year.
