The Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) recently issued Guide Rules on Security Risk Control of Chemical Parks, calling for standardizing site selection of chemical parks, strengthening security risk assessment of chemical parks, making strict regulations on approving construction of hazardous chemicals projects at chemical parks, etc.

In addition, assessment shall be regularly conducted to determine risk ratings. Chemical parks – where major safety accidents occur or professional supervisors are not sufficient – are regarded to have high security risks. Parks with high or relatively high risks shall correct within a fixed period of time, and during this period, construction of hazardous chemicals projects shall be banned.
