The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued Guidance Catalogue on First Application of Key New Materials (2024 Edition), which took effect on January 1, 2024, ending the 2021 edition on the same day.

The new catalogue includes 299 kinds of products categorized into advanced basic materials, key strategic materials and cutting-edge new materials. Compared with the previous version, the new document removes magnesium alloy with high corrosion resistance and high-performance dispersants used in lithium battery cathode active materials, and adds five products: 1) phenyl siloxane rubber; 2) phthalazinone polyaryl ether resin and related composites; 3) high-frequency, low-dielectric fluorinated ethylene-propylene resin; 4) high-efficiency glass fiber filter paper; 5) YPI (yellow polyimide) used in OLED baseplates.
