Domestic consumption of renewable energy sources will reach around one billion tons of standard coal, power generated by renewable energy sources will reach approximately 3.3 trillion kWh, and wind and solar power generation will double, all by 2025, as detailed in Development Plan for Renewable Energy Sources (2021-2025) nine departments including NDRC, NEA, etc. issued recently.

Utilization of renewable energy sources will remain at a reasonable level. In addition, scale of non-electric uses (e.g. geothermal heating, biomass heating, biomass fuel and solar heat utilization) will exceed 60 million tons of standard coal by 2025.
