PROTEX INTERNATIONAL has been present on Chinese market for over 30 years and it reaffirmed in late 2010 its growth ambitions in this country. The Group possesses a strong international presence with 500 employees in 20 industrial and commercial sites worldwide in over 60 countries.
The presence in China of the PROTEX INTERNATIONAL Group began in 1979, with the creation of PROX-ASIA in Hong-Kong, in order to sell products on the Chinese continent which were manufactured at the SYNTHRON plant, at Auzouer-en-Touraine, in France.

Robert MOOR - CEO PROTEX INTERNATIONAL

Conscious of the strong growth potential of China and the necessity to establish proximity with local clients in order to sell not only products but also application services, Robert MOOR, President of PROTEX INTERNATIONAL, decided to establish an industrial presence here. The Sino-Prox Chemicals Gaoyao plant was created in Guandong province in 1995, followed by Suzhou Prox-Chem in Suzhou of Jiangsu province in 2003, Shandong Prox-Chem in Qingdao in 2006, and Suzhou Protavic in 2009. These Chinese subsidiaries are wholly-owned by PROTEX INTERNATIONAL and benefit from polyvalent equipment on their production sites.
Prox Chemicals Gaoyao in Guandong province mainly produces chemicals specialties for the paper, textile, paint and coating industries. The capacity of this plant is about 6 000 t/a and annual output reaches 3 000 tons. Annual revenue reaches RMB30 million.
Suzhou Prox-Chem locates in Suzhou of Jiangsu province mainly produces chemical specialties for the textile and paper industry, with capacity of 5 000 t/a and annual output of approximate 2 500 tons. Its annual revenues is bout RMB28 million.
Shandong Prox-Chem mainly manufactures chemicals specialties for the textile. The capacity of this plant is 3 000 t/a, and annual output is about 1 500 tons. The annual revenue of this plant reaches RMB15 million.
Suzhou Protavic's products are mainly materials for the electronic industries, such as adhesives, potting resins, with production capacity of 5 000 kg/a, annual output of 1 500 kg, and annual revenue of RMB10 million.
These four plants manufacture locally 80% of the products they sell. Some of the products will be exported from China.
The PROTEX INTERNATIONAL Group disposes of 6 R&D centers, including 2 at Guandong province and Suzhou of Jiangsu province, where the research teams develop specific innovative solutions for the Asian market, and follows a policy of "cross-fertilization" from one market to another. Robert MOOR believes in the advantages of know-how developed in various fields, from chemical synthesis to polymerization and formulation.
It is essentially auxiliaries for textiles which are manufactured and sold by the Chinese subsidiaries: products for weaving, bleaching agents, auxiliaries for dyeing and printing, finishings and also products for electronics: silver electro-conductive glues, polymerisable UV resins, encapsulation resins. In the future, products from other markets should also be manufactured in China, where PROTEX INTERNATIONAL intends to expand its offer.
"Given the growing needs in this country, China is and remains a priority country for the coming years" explains Robert MOOR, who intends to develop his Group's organic growth there and make acquisitions in order to pursue his expansion strategy in this country. Robert MOOR believes that China is the second largest world economy and will shortly be the first. The Asian market is strong and the chemical industry in China will be No. 1 in 2015: the Chinese chemical industry grew by 14.6% on average over the past few years.
