East Hope Group Kicks off Calcium Carbide Project   

East Hope Group held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 26th for its chlor-alkali comprehensive project in the Lashengmiao Chlor-Alkali Chemical Park, Wuhai, Inner Mongolia. The RMB15 billion project, which will be operated by East Hope Group's subsidiary Wuhai Zhonglian Chemical Co Ltd, includes a 2 million t/a lime unit, a 2.4 million t/a calcium carbide unit, a 1 million t/a caustic soda unit, 1.2 million polyvinyl chloride unit and a 6 million t/a calcium carbide slag making cement unit. It is reported that the project will be constructed by four phases.
