Imidacloprid Price Slashing Gave Birth to Producer Alliance

With the price rebound and brisk sale of imidacloprid in the winter, China's many small companies without legal production permit restarted their closed units to join in the price slashing. Disordered competition appeared in domestic market. To maintain the healthily development of imidacloprid and extend the application lifespan, the Imidacloprid Product Alliance was announced to set up on January 30th, led by China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). The alliance that was the first one set up by CCPIA is aimed to improve China-made imidacloprid's competitiveness in the global market. CCPIA plans to set up ten alliances in 2010.
The alliance covers 23 imidacloprid technical material producers, including Jiangsu Kesheng Group Co., Ltd., Shandong United Pesticide Industry Co., Ltd., the Red Sun Group Corporation, Qingdao Hailir Pesticides and Chemicals Group and Jiangsu Changqing Agrochemical Co., Ltd. The alliance members will jointly probe into the imidacloprid market conditions and development trends at home and abroad, regulate the market actions, beat out illegal producers and fake products, co-develop pollutant treatment technologies, carry out application test and submit the government suggestions on production, project construction, usages and market situation in order to control overcapacity.
According to CCPIA, 63 domestic companies have got the registration for imidacloprid technical material in China and 23 companies possess production certificates.
