Wengfu Group Skillfully Uses Wastes

In recent years, Wengfu Group has been continuously engaged in the development and utilization of waste gas, waste water and waste residues. In 2009, it invested RMB200 million to build a project for producing ammonium sulfate and cement from phosphogypsum, and a project of active silica production (10 000 t/a) from silicon dioxide slag. Through these projects, the group further strengthens comprehensive utilization of solid wastes like phosphogypsum, cinder powder, silicon dioxide slag, and phosphorous slag.
It's acid wastewater project uses wastewater discharged from chemical fertilizer plants to do ore-dressing. As a result, it can save 2.7 million cubic meters of fresh water, 50 000 tons of sulfuric acid, and more than RMB20 million worth of sewage treatment costs every year, thus realizing zero emissions and creating over RMB60 million of comprehensive benefits per year. The group also uses about 300 000 tons of phosphogypsum residues every year. At the same time, cooperation with Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, the group has developed the technology to produce ammonium sulfate and cement through efficient fluidized desulphurization of phosphogypsum. Together with Guizhou University, Wengfu Group has developed 50 000 square meters of new type phosphogypsum wallboard materials; its research on the technology of producing high-end materials from phosphogypsum has also got support from the Science and Technology Department of Guizhou province.
