Explosion in Shenyang Chemical Kills Four       

An explosion happened in Shenyang Chemical Co., Ltd. (SZ: 000698) on April 23rd, 2009.
    Shenyang Chemical Industry Group (Shenyang Chemical Group), the largest shareholder of Shenyang Chemical announced on the same day that the blast occurred when workers were repairing a water storage tank. Three were killed on the spot and one person seriously injured later died in hospital. Shenyang Chemical Group said the blast did not affect the production.
    This was not the only one of the heavy accidents occurred in listed chemical companies this year. On March 23rd, an explosion happened at the 500 000 t/a synthetic ammonia unit of Yunnan Yuntianhua (SH: 600096). Five workers were slightly wounded, no death. (CCR2009 No.10)
   Twelve workers were killed in shelter collapse happened at the construction site of the 800 000 t/a urea project in Chongqing Jianfeng Chemical (SZ: 000950). (CCR2009 No.10)
