Honeywell Names Scott Zhang as Vice President and General Manger of Asia for Specialty Materials

On October 22nd, Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced the appointment of Scott Zhang as Vice President and General Manager of Asia, for the company's Specialty Materials business.
    Scott, based in Shanghai, is responsible strengthening customer relationships, expanding research and manufacturing presence and driving acquisition and integration activity in the region. He reports directly to Andreas Kramvis, Honeywell Specialty Materials' president and CEO.
    During his over 20 year career in the chemical and energy industries Scott gained extensive experience in research, commercial and new business development. Most recently, Scott was the New Business Director in Asia for Specialty Materials, a position that he held since November of 2007. Prior to that, for the past 18 years, Scott worked for UOP, a business unit under Specialty, with 5-1/2 years in Beijing as the UOP China Chief Representative. Scott began his career as research specialist at the UOP R & D organization in Chicago, US.
   Scott earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From the Illinois Institute of Technology Scott earned both an MS degree in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. In addition, Scott also earned an Executive MBA through Kellogg - HKUST Executive MBA program.

Expansion of Asia Technology Center

Honeywell Specialty Materials announces the completion of the expansion of its Asia Technology Center. The expanded Technology Center possesses the capacity to provide industrially mass-produced samples as well as conduct small-scale laboratory research, thus enhancing its ability to serve the needs of the Asian and global markets.
   The expansion is part of the overall expansion of Honeywell's research and development center located in Zhangjiang, Shanghai. Total investment in the expansion amounts to more than US$13.5 million.
   The expansion demonstrates the company's sustained commitment to the Asian region and its confidence in servicing Asian and global customers through technological innovation, according to Dr. Scott Zhang.
