Air Products Receives Shanghai Regional Headquarters Certification     

On September 12th, Air Products and chemicals, Inc. received the Shanghai Regional Headquarters Certificate from Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Commission, recognizing its Shanghai office as the company's regional headquarters in China.
   Air Products is the 200th multinational corporation (MNC) to be granted the certificate out of only a total of 206 MNCs to date.
    Since entering the Chinese market in 1987, Air Products has established more than 30 company entities along the coasts of northern, eastern and southern China and employs more than 1 600 people. In 1997, Air Products set up Air Products and Chemicals (China) Investment Co., Ltd. in Shanghai to serve as a regional center and to hold Air Products' investments in China.
   Over the past years, Air Products has been expanding its local production facilities and infrastructure in or near Shanghai to meet growing customers' demands in the Chinese market and also across Asia. These infrastructures include Global Technology Center, Global Engineering Center, Global Cryogenic Equipment Manufacturing and Strategic Sourcing Center. Air Products' hydrogen and fuel cell technology helped power the official shuttle buses and cars which transported athletes during the recently completed Beijing Olympic Games.
