Re-evaluation on Catechol Antidumping Case      

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on August 26th China starts a final result re-evaluation investigation on the antidumping case of catechol (o-dihydroxybenzene, HS code: 29072910) imported from the European Union. The dumping re-evaluation investigation is from July 1st, 2007 to June 30th, 2008 while the injury investigation period is from January 1st, 2002 to June 30th, 2006.
   China has imposed the antidumping duty on imports of catechol originated from the European Union since August 27th, 2003 for five years. (CCR2003 No. 25)
   On December 10th, 2005 MOC announced the interim re-evaluation result to levy a 50% antidumping tariff on catechol imported from France's Rhodia Organique SAS and a 41% antidumping tariff on catechol from Borregaard Italia SPA. (CCR2005 No. 31)
   On May 26th, 2008 MOC received an application report from Lianyungang Sanjili Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., a leading catechol producer in China, which request to continue the antidumping duty.
