Sterically Hindered Amine Solvents

The project for the research and development of sterically
hindered amine solvents for desulfurization and decarbonization
completed by Research Institute of Nanjing Chemical Industrial
Co., Ltd. recently won the 2006 First Prize of Nanjing Science
and Technology Progress.
   The 3 new composite solvents based on sterically hindered
amine developed by Research Institute of Nanjing Chemical
Industrial Co., Ltd. have better properties than similar
solvents in the application scope. A 500 t/a pilot production
unit has been constructed and more than 1 500 tons of solvents
has been produced. An output value of over RMB40 million has
already been generated 0 the sales of solvents based on
sterically hindered amine. Owing to the use of such solvents,
more than 20 enterprises such as Yangzi Petrochemical Company
Ltd., Germu Refinery and Henan Mengjin Chemical Fertilizer Plant
have increased their output and reduced their consumption.
