Low-Toxicity Polyamide Curing Agent

Shanghai Wing Chemical Sci-Tech Co., Ltd. has recently developed
a brand-new polyamide curing agent. According to experts from
China Epoxy Resin Industry Association, the most outstanding
advantage of the product is low toxicity and no hazards to
environment. Traditional polyamide curing agents have poor
environmental friendship as they are all based on fatty amines
with considerable toxicity and need to use organic solvents. The
curing agent developed by the company mainly uses non-toxic
acyclic amines as raw materials. The amount of fatty amines used
only has a very low proportion. It has the following features.
    (1) Low toxicity. (2) High activity: Owing to the addition
of active factors in the reaction, the amine value of the product
is higher than traditional polyamide. (3) Low-temperature
curing (-5?): Because of the high amine value, the defect of
traditional polyamide in application duration is removed and
conveniences are provided for winter operation. (4) Low
viscosity and environmental friendly: The viscosity of the
product is lower than traditional polyamide and is therefore
easier to blend with epoxy resins. The use of solvents or active
thinners in epoxy resins is reduced or omitted. The operation
cost is down and the pollution to environment is also reduced.
(5) Great hardness and heat resistance. (6) Excellent weather
resistance: The use of acyclic amines as the main component has
improved the weather resistance of epoxy resin cured substances.
