Nano Functional Adsorption Materials for Medical Use

The project for the "research of nano functional adsorption
materials containing blood plasma lipid" undertaken by Shanghai
Institute of Organic Chemistry CAS has recently passed the
appraisal organized by Science and Technology Commission of
Shanghai Municipality.
In the project medical polymer non-woven fabric with
micro-nano pore size was used as raw material to prepare polymer
porous membrane adsorption carrier materials with negative
electric property on the surface through irradiation surface
modification. Researchers then modified the coupling and
anchorage of hydroxyl groups on the surface of polymer porous
membrane adsorption carrier materials through graft
co-polymerization between selective adsorption ligand and
acrylic acid and prepared 3 major series of adsorption ligands
and new polymer porous membrane adsorption carriers with
different ligand contents. Shanghai Institute of Organic
Chemistry CAS has further conducted experiments on the
isothermal dynamic adsorption and the priming dynamic
adsorption of blood plasma lipid in clinical high blood fat
patients. Results show that porous membrane materials have good
adsorption selectivity to low-density lipoprotein and
high-density lipoprotein and high ability to remove total
cholesterol and glycerin trimyristate through adsorption. Tests
on the blood compatibility of porous membrane materials and the
animal toxicity of extracts show that porous membrane materials
have good blood compatibility and no distinct toxicity.
