MCSG Technology Wins Patent

A new coal gasification technology, multi-component slurry
gasification (MCSG) developed by Northwest Research Institute
of Chemical Industry (NRICI) won invention patent of the state.
The most outstanding feature of this large-scale coal
gasification technology is that it can process
carbon-containing substances such as coal, petroleum coke and
petroleum asphalt into multi-slurry through the optimal
blending with oil and water and then generate syngas through
pressurization and gasification in a pneumatic bed gasifier.
The patent technology is one of wet-process feedstock
pressurization and fluidized bed gasification. Feedstock slurry
is taken into a gasifier in pressurized conditions.
Carbon-containing solids and oxygen have partial oxidation to
generate crude syngas with CO and H2 as effective components.
Crude syngas can be further used in the synthesis of ammonia,
methanol, hydrogen and oil products.
The MCSG process has provided a firm technical support to the
development of many industrial processes such as coal-based
chemicals, coal-based liquid fuels, MTO, coal gasification
multi-production system and hydrogen preparation.
