First Phase Production Base of Kodak Completed
The first phase of the production base established by Kodak
in China has  been  completed.   The  production  base  is
located in Xiamen Haicang  Xinyang  Industrial  Zone.   It
occupies an area of 430 000 m2 and has  an  investment  of
650 million U.S. dollars. It  is  the  biggest  production
base of film rolls and photographic paper  established  by
Kodak in Asia. The whole project will be completed in  the
second half of 2000. Separated packing of different  types
of film rolls and photographic paper  for  civil  use  and
professional use has already started in the base.
  In the recent 5 years China has risen from  the  17th  to
the 3rd largest market of Kodak. The company will try  its
best to achieve greater  success  in  China  in  the  next
century. The investment made by  Kodak  in  China  already
exceeds 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.
