Small Ethylene Plant Revamping Launched
The revamping of Zhongyuan ethylene plant,  one  of  the  7
small ethylene plants with a capacity of less than 140 000
t/a, started on Nov. 16. It is the  first  small  ethylene
plant revamping in China and the capacity will be expanded
at one time from 140 000 t/a to 180 000 t/a. It will be  a
demonstration project to other small ethylene plants.  The
project has a total investment of around 350 million yuan,
including 53 million yuan in the cracking  furnace.   This
core unit is composed of a 60 000 t/a CBL cracking furnace
, a furnace foundation and  accessory  equipment,   process
pipelines and instruments. The revamping duration  is  355
days from Oct. 20, 1999 to  Oct.   10,   2000.   Zhongyuan
ethylene plant revamping has a  high  output/input  ratio.
Based on the current product selling price, a total  input
of 350 - 360  million  yuan  can  yield  an  annual  sales
revenue of 500 - 600 million yuan.
