CPE Capacity Expanded in Yaxing

Weifang Yaxing Group in Weifang,  Shandong  province,   has
recently completed a 11 000 t/a  chlorinated  polyethylene
(CPE) plant, bring its total CPE capacity up to 26 000 t/a.
CPE is mainly used as impact modifier for  hard  polyvinyl
chloride.
  Weifang Yaxing introduced a patent process  from  Hoechst
AG of Germany to construct a 6 000 t/a CPE production line
in 1990, pioneering  in  CPE  production  in  China.   The
company constructed its second CPE production  line  of  9
000 t/a in 1993, also using Hoechst's process.
  Weifang Yaxing's export volume in 1999 is expected at $ 5
million, a tangible decline comparing with $ 6 million  of
1998. Due to short supply, Weifang Yaxing  sells  more  in
domestic market this year.
  In addition, CPE 130B and CPE  135B,   the  two  products
developed  in  Weifang  Yaxing  this  year,   have  passed
professional appraisal. The application of CPE 135B is  in
the fields of wire, cable and plastic product productions.
CPE 130B is mainly used in hoses (for automobile use)  and
rubber products.
