800 000 T/A II Type Catalytic Cracking
                    Unit Starts Production
The first 800 000 t/a II type cata-lytic cracking  unit  in
China has  started  production  in  Jingmen  Petrochemical
General Plant. It is the achievement jointly developed  by
Beijing Design Institute and Jingmen Petrochemical General
Plant.
The II  type  catalytic  cracking  technology  is  a  major
technical debottlenecking  project  of  the  former  China
Petrochemical Corporation during the Eighth Five-year Plan
period. It is a new  process  which  takes  heavy  oil  as
feedstock, and uses lift leg reactor  and  special  CIP- 1
catalyst to produce propylene, isobutene,  isopentene  and
high octanol number gasoline. The  800  000  t/a  II  type
catalytic cracking unit is renovated on the basis  of  the
existing 800 000 t/a catalytic cracking  unit  in  Jingmen
Petrochemical General Plant.
The start of production of this unit shows that the II type
catalytic  cracking  technology  developed  by  China  has
reached the advanced world level.
