Renovation of the PVC Drying System
          Completed in Calcium Carbide Plant of
          Jilin Chemical Industrial Corporation
The renovation of the PVC dry-ing system in Calcium Carbide
Plant,  a  major  renovation  project  of  Jilin  Chemical
Industrial Corporation, is completed and  has  started  to
produce qualified product.
Before the  renovation,   the  system  had  a  high  energy
consumption and maintenance cost. It was a ottleneck to the
PVC production. Since November last year,  the  plant  has
launched design and construction by itself and invested  3
.3 million yuan in the technical renovation of  the  drying
system. The renovation has shortened the drying time  from
one hour to 20 minutes and increased the capacity from  26
000 t/a to 30 000 t/a.
