Production Base Established by P & G in Tianjin
The production base established by P&G in Tianjin  with  an
investment of 120 million U.S. dollars is recently open to
business. A senior  executive  of    P&G  says  that  this
factory will be developed into the  company's  biggest  in
Asia  producing  different  varieties  of  products.   The
factory is located in Xiqing Development Zone close to the
downtown area of Tianjin and has a total area of 460 000 m2.
It started construction  in  May  1996.   It  will  mainly
produce hair care products and women's sanitary  articles,
and also other products needed in the Chinese market.
It is reported that P&G set  up  its  first  enterprise  in
Guangzhou in 1988. By now  11  joint  venture  and  wholly
- owned  enterprises  have  been  established  in  Chengdu,
Beijing and Tianjin.
