Leakage-Proof Film Production Base in Wuhan

The first large earthwork synthetic material (leakage-proof film) production base established by Tensar International of Britain in China started production in Hubei Wuhan Development Zone on Sept. 6.      Earthwork synthetic materials are polymeric textile materials that have been used in civil engineering in great quantities in recent years. Earthwork cloth produced with non-woven fabrics as raw materials through new weaving technology has strong leakage-proof property. It is used on stable earth layers in construction to increase the strength of structures. Tensar International of Britain developed the technology for the production of high-performance earthwork synthetic materials in the late 1970s. Several hundred million square meters of earthwork synthetic materials have been used in highway, railway, water transportation and municipal engineering projects in various countries of the world. Wuhan Tensar Co., Ltd. has made a total investment of RMB220 million in the project.
