30 000 T/A Melamine Unit Starts Production

A 30 000 t/a melamine unit with the largest single-unit capacity completed wet commissioning and produced qualified product on Sept. 15 in Zhongyuan Dahua Group Ltd. of Henan Province located in the central region of China. The melamine capacity in the company has exceeded 60 000 t/a, accounting for one fifth of the national total.    The total investment of the melamine unit and the matched 140 000 t/a urea project is RMB500 million. The melamine unit uses the high-pressure production technology from Allied-Signal Inc. of USA. It is the third melamine unit in Zhongyuan Dahua Group Ltd. The company constructed a 15 000 t/a unit in 2000 and another 15 000 t/a unit in 2002. Both units use the high-pressure production technology of Allied-Signal Inc. Owing to the use of the world’s most advanced reactor in the new melamine unit, the process flow is shortened. Owing to the use of the world’s most advanced ultra-filtration membrane technology, waste water, waste gas and waste residue are recovered for use and there is no discharge of wastes in the melamine production.
