75 000 T/A PP project in Nanchong

The ceremony for launching the LPG deep processing project was held in Nanchong Refining & Chemical Complex located in Henan province on Sept. 3. The project has an investment of RMB80 million made by Nanchong Shida Chemical Co., Ltd., occupies an area of 4.6 hectares and can produce 75 000 tons of PP (polypropylene) a year.    LPG from Nanchong Refining & Chemical Complex is used as raw material. The project will be executed in two phases. The first phase includes a 70 000 t/a propylene gas separation unit, a 30 000 t/a PP production unit and other auxiliary facilities and will start production in March 2006. The second phase includes a 45 000 t/a PP unit and a 15 000 t/a MTBE (methyl tert-butyl ether) unit and will start construction in 2007.
