BASF hit Euro 87.3 billion in sales in 2022, up 11.1% YoY, and net profit reached negative Euro 627 million, versus Euro 5.5 billion in 2021. The company forecasts that its sales for 2023 may reach Euro 84-87 billion. In the fourth quarter of 2022, BASF’s sales fell 2.3% YoY to Euro 19.3 billion, and net profit declined to negative Euro 4.8 billion, far lower than Euro 898 million in H4 2021. BASF is taking measures (e.g. making a cost reduction plan), trying to save more than Euro 500 million a year – a goal expected to be realized at the end of 2024.
