On July 13, a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction projects (2nd batch) at Hainan Free Trade Port was held. CNOOC Hainan fine chemical project’s phase II acrylonitrile (ACN) project is included. The ACN project will have a total investment of RMB2.776 billion and is expected to be completed and put into operation in November 2022, producing high value-added ACN and methyl methacrylate (MMA). Construction will cover a 200 kt/a ACN plant, a 70 kt/a MMA plant and a 214 kt/a SAR plant.
