On June 4, a contract signing ceremony was held for the 4 500 kt/a coal-to-coke and by-products comprehensive utilization project in Diaobingshan city of Liaoning province. 

The 4 500 kt/a coal-based coke and by-products comprehensive utilization project is jointly invested and constructed by Zhengnan Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. and Liaoning Tiefa Energy Co., Ltd., with a total investment of RMB10.9 billion. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate to build two (2×2×60 holes) 6.25m tamping coke oven production lines, and a (2×70 holes) 7.65m top-loading coke oven production line; the comprehensive coal gas utilization project will include a 200-kt LNG production line and a 3 000-kt synthetic ammonia production line; the tar comprehensive utilization and industrial chain extension project will cover a 600-kt tar deep processing device and a supporting 1 500-kt needle coke production line; a 1 500-kt ultra-high-power graphite electrode production line is also to be built. Main products will include coke, LNG natural gas, synthetic ammonia, needle coke, graphite electrodes, etc. 

The two parties are committed to forge the chemical industry with an annual output value of RMB20 billion. This project also marks a major breakthrough in Diaobingshan city’s introduction of industrial projects of more than RMB3 billion.
