Bisphenol B is one of endocrine disrupters just like bisphenol A, according to a paper researching bisphenol B and reviewed by agencies such as ANSES (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety). Assessing endocrine characteristics of industrial chemicals (e.g. bisphenol B) is not mandatory.

   There will be more information on endocrine characteristics of bisphenol B given growing concerns about bisphenol A. However, industry players may invest in bisphenol B to substitute bisphenol A. This may bring harmful effects. In August 2019, France suggested that ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) should add bisphenol B to the Substance of Very High Concern List.
