Zhejiang Tongkun Group and Shanghai Baosteel Gases signed a cooperation agreement on the 1.2-million-ton monoethylene glycol (MEG) project at the headquarter of Zhejiang Tongkun Group.
   The 1.2-million-ton MEG project is located in Longqiao Industrial Park of Lujiang County, covering an area of 1 800 Mu, with a total investment of RMB11.4 billion. The project is mainly aimed for the development and research of syngas-based MEG production technology, production and sales. Construction will include coal gasification unit, air separation unit, dimethyl oxalate (DMO) synthesizer, MEG synthesizer, distillation unit, substation, water treatment facilities and other public works.
