Cooperation Agreement Signed for 400 kt/a MEG Project’s PSA-CO Plant in Xinjiang

The cooperation agreement for China’s first raw coke oven gas-based monoethylene glycol (MEG) project, the pressure-swing adsorption (PSA)-CO plant of Hami Guanghui Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.’s 400 kt/a MEG project was signed recently. The project will be designed and constructed by Peking University Pioneer Technology Co., Ltd.

   The project will be located in Naomaohu Industrial Park of Yiwu County, Hami City of Xinjiang, with a total investment of RMB3.56 billion. It will use refining companies’ by-product raw coke oven gas as feedstock to produce high-end MEG products through conversion, transformation, adsorption, separation, etc. The project is expected to be completed and started up in 2021. The project contractor Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. has singed a cooperation agreement with Peking University Pioneer Technology Co., Ltd. The latter will design and build a 45 720 Nm3/h PSA-CO plant, which can achieve CO products with purity exceeding 98.5% and these will all be used for MEG production.
