China Imposes Anti-dumping Duties on Phenol from the EU and Four Countries

China decided to impose five-year anti-dumping duties on phenol originating from the US, the EU, South Korea, Japan and Thailand, the Ministry of Commerce announced on September 3. The duties started from September 6, with the rates ranging from 10.6% to 287.2%.
In detail, the rates are 287.2% for INEOS Americas LLC, 244.3% for Blue Cube Operations LLC and 287.2% for other firms of the US; 30.4% for firms of the EU; 12.5% for Kumho P&B Chemicals Inc., 12.6% for LG Chem, Ltd. and 23.7% for other firms of South Korea; 27% for Japanese firms (except Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., 19.3%); and 28.6% for firms of Thailand (except PTT Phenol Company Limited, 10.6%).
