On July 23, Evonik and Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions have agreed to grant a license for hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide (HPPO) Technology to Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical Co., Ltd. to produce propylene oxide, Qixiang Tengda recently announced. Evonik has licensed the production of hydrogen peroxide for the exclusive supply of the propylene oxide plant to Qixiang Tengda, according to the announcement.

Qixiang Tengda issued a notice on July 26 that it has reached an agreement with China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation (CNCEC) and its subsidiary China Tianchen Engineering Corporation (TEC) on joint investment in the foundation of Tianchen Qixiang New Materials Co., Ltd. to produce hi-tech new Nylon 66 materials.

Tianchen Qixiang New Materials Co., Ltd. plans to set up a production base, able to produce 1-millon-ton new Nylon 66 materials annually. Construction will be carried out in two phases. Phase I project will include a 300 kt ACN/hydrocyanic acid (HCN) plant, a 50 kt sodium cyanide plant, a 90 kt HCN plant, a 200 kt adiponitrile (ADN) plant, a 200 kt hydrogenation plant and a 200 kt nylon 66 salt and chip plant. Propylene, methanol, ammonia, butadiene (BD), adipic acid, hydrogen and natural gas are major feedstock. The project will form synergies with the existing industrial chain of Qixiang Tengda.
