On May 7, Liaoyang Petrochemical has got approval from China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) for the basic design of its 300 kt/a high-performance polypropylene (PP) project and entered the project implementation stage.

The project will have a total investment of RMB1.16 billion for the construction of a combined 192 production facilities and supporting equipment. Products are mainly high-end high impact PP specialty materials applied in automobiles and home appliances. The project is planned to be completed on August 30, 2020 and be put into operation by the end of that year.
