On May 7, the first group of highly supervised chemical firms were publicized, temporarily including 60 firms (13 in both Zibo and Weifang, followed by Yantai, Taian, Weihai and Binzhou, each having 5; four in Dezhou; three in Dongying; two in Qingdao; Zaozhuang, Jining, Rizhao, Linyi and Liaocheng each having one).

Highly supervised chemical firms refer to those located outside of provincial government announced chemical parks, and in line with national policies. In addition, they are superior in technology, scale, tax contribution, safety and environmental measures, etc. Provisions applying to chemical parks will be taken as reference for these firms, in aspects of examining, approving, constructing and managing projects.
