Productronica China 2017: -- Wacker Presents Novel Silicone Elastomers

On March 14, 2017, WACKER announced that it is presenting two novel silicone elastomers for the Chinese market at this year’s Productronica China show. ELASTOSIL (R) RT 725 is a silicone elastomer that cures rapidly and therefore allows low-temperature heating. It can significantly improve the production efficiency of automatic dispensing machines, and can be widely used in various adhesion applications. ELASTOSIL (R) RT 709 is a flowable silicone elastomer with extraordinary thermal stability. Typical applications are household appliances and electric vehicles. Another WACKER product highlight is ELASTOSIL (R) SC 870, a foam-forming silicone elastomer which cures quickly at room temperature. Featuring an excellent damping property, it is widely used in batteries of electric vehicles and automotive electronics. Productronica China 2017 takes place in Shanghai from March 14 to 16.
   ELASTOSIL (R) RT 725 is an addition-curing two-component silicone rubber. At temperatures between 80°C to 100°C, it cures in a few minutes, forming a rubber with high tensile strength and high elongation. The short curing time improves the production efficiency of automatic dispensing machines significantly. As curing with low-temperature heating does not impact the lifetime of electronic components, ELASTOSIL (R) RT 725 can be widely used in various adhesion applications.
   ELASTOSIL (R) RT 709 is a flowable, addition-curing single-component silicone rubber. Withstanding temperatures of up to 250°C over a long term, it features extraordinary thermal stability and certain thermal conductivity. ELASTOSIL (R) RT 709 also has strong bonding properties and offers primerless adhesion to several substrates. The product can be used for typical applications in household appliances and electric vehicles.
   During Productronica China 2017, WACKER will also showcase ELASTOSIL (R) SC 870, a thixotropic, addition-curing two-component silicone rubber. It can fast cure at room temperature, forming a mainly closed cell foam. Featuring an excellent damping property, it is widely used in batteries of electric vehicle and automotive electronics.
